A Hundred Years of Life and Death

This novel describes the story of the joys and sorrows of two families from the mid-18th century to the early 20th century. Historical events involving various historical stages paint a picture of secular customs in Shikumen, a city in the south of the Yangtze River that lasted for more than 150 years. There are forty or fifty characters with names and stories. It is a very unique "Shanghai-style story." There are 18 chapters in total, totaling 245,000 words.
