Who Knows Whom

Criminal Li Jing:

Arrogant and unruly, he showed no regard for the law.

He scorned imperial authority and defiled the emperor's ears.

He slandered the authorities and twisted the words of the wise.

He spread heretical ideas and ran an illegal school.

He harassed young women and caused trouble for the prefectural office.

He is to be executed in ten days. The Dali Temple will oversee the execution, with Wu Pandao, head of Tianhong Academy, assisting. So ordered.

"This student dares to speak!"

"Teacher, be careful!"

"Who dares to interrupt?"

"Your student, Li Jing, is here!"

The death-seeking scholar Li Jing makes his entrance.

Li Jing slowly got to his feet and tiptoed around, looking for a way to escape.

"There's a * in the front courtyard. It doesn't get fed often, so if you go out there, it'll probably be full."

A mystery of one's origins, a romance between teacher and student, love in a time of chaos, and the bitter ties between teacher and student. Watch Li Jing play a winning hand with a deck missing its trump card and somehow turn things around.
