In a world of the steam age, a thriving surface conceals horrors that chill the blood. Chaos whispers, shadows lurk. Tainted filth spews vile, frenzied curses.
A shadow stretches endlessly before Rocco. A hideous head crawls out of the darkness, covered in enormous, blood-red eyes. It stares at him, spies on him, while its black, tree-like body twists and keeps growing. Its mouth emits an indescribable racket, as if tempting him toward corruption.
Plop.
Without changing expression, Rocco reaches out and cleanly twists off the enormous head before him, shaped like a deformed octopus. He tosses it to the ground and crushes it underfoot. Then he brushes off his silvery-gray coat and walks away.
