An Ordinary Life, Nowhere to Return

From the perspective of the head of the equity financing department, this book tells the story of a startup that invested in a large-scale project and is now facing a cash-flow crisis, and the series of events surrounding its efforts to raise equity financing. It reveals the true conditions and many challenges businesses face when seeking equity financing in today's chilly capital markets; exposes the real, short-sighted attitudes some private business owners have toward company operations and capital management; and depicts the genuine thoughts, reactions, and actions of employees at junior, mid-level, and senior positions as the company runs out of money. Unlike earlier workplace novels, which focus on a small handful of business elites at the top of the corporate ladder, this book portrays the many faces of ordinary working life, and is sure to strike a chord with many people in the workplace.

This novel and its characters are entirely fictional. Any resemblance to actual people or events is purely coincidental. Do not imitate.
