The Slacker at a Vocational College

More than ten years ago, I resolved to leave my hometown and come to this provincial capital, a thousand miles away. After a long overnight bus ride, I arrived on the first day of school, which was also my eighteenth birthday. Faced with an unfamiliar city, a crowd of unfamiliar faces, and strange accents, half of my hopeful anticipation for a bright future vanished in an instant. Fortunately, the upperclasswomen there to welcome us were all beautifully dressed: straightened bangs and shoulder-length hair, white T-shirts, track pants, and sneakers. A faint fragrance drifted from them, and their youthful energy constantly stirred the hormones awakening inside me.
