A Chinese Odyssey: The Bewitching Realm of Romance

While escorting Tang Sanzang to the West to seek the scriptures, Sun Wukong had already completed all eighty-one trials. But just before they reached Leiyin Temple, another trial appeared out of nowhere.

It turned out to be a romantic tribulation he had to endure in one lifetime before becoming the Victorious Fighting Buddha.

As the story goes, Sun Wukong pursued a demon all the way into a world of passion through the Mirror of Illusion and Reality. He drank a potion that made him forget love and lose his memories, then became entangled in a lifetime of love and hate with the passionate Queen Hua Ruxue and the adorable young princess Hua Zhi.

Without the golden headband, he was merely Sun Wu, a lovesick young gentleman forced into love by the queen. Once he put on the golden headband, Sun Wu became Sun Wukong.

When she loved me, I didn't know how to cherish her. All I cared about was recovering my memories, all I cared about was the Buddha's heart.

When I realized I truly loved her, it was already too late to turn things around.

Ten thousand years is too long. I only want to seize the moment. I don't want to be the Great Sage Equal to Heaven. I am the Madman of Love, the Great Sage Mad with Love!

Born for love, driven mad by love, willingly falling into the mortal world!
