A Bookworm Becomes a Warlord

"You read The Smiling, Proud Wanderer and learned the Nine Swords of Dugu!"

"You read Demi-Gods and Semi-Devils and learned the Northern Darkness Divine Skill!"

"You read Journey to the West and learned the Seventy-Two Transformations!"

This is a wondrous world called the Bookworm World.

Everyone in the Bookworm World is a bookworm, and they must read to survive. They can absorb energy and skills from books. For example, reading a martial arts novel grants them its energy and martial arts.

The Huaguo in this world is much like China during the Republic of China era on Earth: warlords clash, foreign powers bully the nation, and the country is battered by turmoil, on the verge of losing its very identity.

Patriotic young people all go abroad to study, hoping to gain the remarkable creativity of foreigners and create higher-grade books that can improve their country.

Countless ambitious young people are devoted to their nation and serve it without hesitation, yet the future remains bleak.

Then, someone arrived carrying countless... from Earth.
