I came from a humble place, and I also draw the nutrients of life from a humble place. Thank you, poverty, for making me believe in the power of education and knowledge. The light from truth and wisdom finally penetrated the deep fog in my soul and illuminated my childish and ignorant heart. Poverty may shake many beliefs, but it makes me believe more persistently in the power of knowledge. Poverty brings far more than pain, struggle and confusion. Although it has narrowed my vision, hurt my self-esteem, and even indirectly taken away the lives of close relatives, I still want to say, thank you, poverty.
