The Apocalypse's Firmament

The apocalypse arrived, and everything changed. A sixteen-year-old boy awoke from a dream, lost in this desolate world. Loneliness and fear, confusion and despair, all gnawed at him like a ceaseless stream of muttered thoughts. Then the boy stepped into the vortex. There was nothing in his eyes, only endless darkness. His body wandered through it of its own accord, devouring the monsters lurking within. Suddenly, he heard a scream, like a light in the darkness that illuminated his world.

Just as the monsters were about to devour her, the boy rescued the girl.

When the girl was saved from the monsters, she felt their warmth and sensed that they were different. At that very moment, the boy suddenly emerged from the darkness. Faced with a boy who had changed from a monster back into a human, the girl let go of her fear.

Now the boy seemed to fear nothing. He took the hand of the girl pinned beneath him, and together they set out on a journey across the new continent.
