Carefree, I Become an Immortal

Gu Xiaoyao is an orphan who was abandoned by everyone. He was rescued after encountering villagers from a small village, where he studied, learned to read and write, and sat the imperial examinations. But he failed, fell into poverty, and then met the first woman to whom he gave his heart. She deceived him, toyed with his feelings, and left him distraught, yet he could not forget her. Driven to take his own life, he ventured alone into the deep wilderness, where he stumbled upon a miraculous opportunity: an immortal's cave dwelling, along with the secret cultivation manuals of an immortal. He cultivated ever onward, cutting through obstacles and forging ahead, exploring ancient cultivators' ruins and discovering their cave dwellings, magical treasures, alchemy, talismans, formations, and spirit beasts. This is the story of his cultivation and journey to immortality.

My fate is mine to command, not Heaven's. The carefree life belongs to the free immortal. Don't ask what this is all about: I alone am the eternal, carefree immortal. The carefree immortal is at ease in the human world. Where else in this world could one find such pure blue skies? All are at ease, carefree immortals.
