Kindred Spirits

Ling Xi longs for freedom. Feng Jingtian can give him anything except that.

Ling Xi wants to find his parents and return to the life he had before.

Feng Jingtian promises, but time passes and nothing comes of it.

Ling Xi asks, "Do you love me?"

Feng Jingtian replies with deep conviction, "I do."

"How much?"

"I'll stay by your side, even in death."

Ling Xi gazes at the peerless Wuyahua flower on the cliff. "It's so beautiful."

"If you like it, I'll find another one."

"I want two. One for you and one for me. Bring them to me."

Feng Jingtian looks at him for a long while before answering slowly, "Do you know the Wuyahua only blooms once every ten years?"

"I know."

"Do you know its flowers last less than an hour?"

"I know."

"Do you know that two Wuyahua flowers can never bloom at the same time?"

"Then you'll have to search patiently."

Feng Jingtian spends sixteen years searching for them, and sixteen years longing for him. To be continued...
