Lin Bao isn’t actually his name. His father calls him "Bao’er," and since their family name is Lin, he assumes his name must be Lin Bao.
He has no household registration. Put simply, he’s an illegal resident. He was planning to live out his life carefree, but who could have guessed that an imperial decree would plunge him into an abyss?
It turns out his father is a fugitive from the imperial court, and a serious criminal at that.
Lin Bao naturally refuses to believe it, so he takes his young servant to the prosperous capital to clear his father’s name. Along the way, he meets Emperor Xiao Jing, and that’s where the trouble begins: a tale of love and hate between a lion and a completely unsuspecting little white rabbit.
