Reading Fairy Tail novels, I found that most of them follow the plot, and you have to participate in every plot. What about protecting your companions? Wouldn't the original novel still go smoothly without the male protagonist? The speech, action and plot are all the same as the original. Instead of just adding a pretentious male protagonist, you might as well watch the anime.
