Dancing Winds Across the Land

This is the story of a village in northern Jiangsu, China, between the eve of Liberation and the establishment of the People's Communes. Focusing on conflicts of interest and tangled relationships among five Zheng families living in the Gao estate, both within and between households, between insiders and outsiders, rich and poor, and even the poor among themselves, the novel vividly portrays rural life. It condemns evil, promotes virtue and justice, and offers readers artistic inspiration and an appreciation of beauty.
