The Demon-Subduing Pearl of the Celestial Palace has suddenly been stolen, plunging the Immortal Realm into turmoil. To find the culprit, Nuwa, ruler of the Celestial Palace, orders Xuan Long, son of the North Sea Dragon God, to investigate the truth. But Xuan Long, who is about to become Nuwa's son-in-law, is framed by rebels within the Celestial Palace. He and his fiancée, Fairy Ruo Yu, are separated for two lifetimes: one becomes a demon, while the other falls into the mortal world. Their two lives, one as a human and one as a demon, are full of hardship. When Xuan Long is born into the mortal world, his people live by the law of the jungle, demons hunt them down, and their race teeters on the brink of extinction. To secure a chance of survival, he uses extraordinary courage and wisdom to lead his people in slaying demons and clearing a path. But will the Evil God let him go? Will his many enemies allow it? If not, what will he do? The schemes of immortals, the slaughter by gods and demons, the struggles of humanity: whose world will prevail?
