The Outsider

Throughout her life, she always believed she was merely an outsider in this world. Her lifeline was short, and she always thought it was a ticket to another world. She lived proudly, working hard to build a life for herself wherever she went. She hated mediocrity and refused to settle for an ordinary life. After trying again and again, she finally gained so much. She said that if she had another life, she hoped to be ordinary and content with it. Those who say that being able to pick something up and put it down is what love is, those who say to let him be happy even if it's not with you, those who say that giving up is a kind of grace: they've never experienced it, never taken that step, never been rejected, never said a thing. How can they know grace? If she could choose again, how dearly she wished she had left a small trace of her love in that sunlit place, so full of youth. Perhaps a simple, ordinary love could have been just as beautiful.
