Slaughter Hunter

January in Japan was still quite cold, but that did nothing to dampen the enthusiasm of people who had just celebrated the Japanese New Year. Groups of friends and couples strolled beneath the bare street trees.

Even behind such bustling scenes, however, there was a squalid side that few knew about. On a street far from the crowds, an abandoned baby cried by the roadside. His lips were blue-purple from the cold, and his little face had already turned blue, unmistakable signs that he had been left there for a long time.
