Great Ming: This Prince Only Wants to Lay Low, but the System Forces Me to Take Action

He transmigrated into the least favored of the Ming dynasty's thirteen princes. His mother had been stripped of her title, and even the eunuchs in the Eastern Palace's side halls dared to give him attitude.

He had planned to coast through life and wait for his fief, but then an imperial decree landed in his lap: go to the Northern Garrison Bureau and assist the Embroidered Uniform Guard!

It looked like a promotion, but in truth they were sending him to take the fall. The entire court waited to laugh at him, and his ninth older brother even mocked him in public: "The imperial prison is a gloomy place. Don't let them carry you out after three days."

Just as he was about to feign illness and refuse, the Choice System activated:

1. Feign illness and return the decree. Reward: one hundred taels of gold.

2. Ask the emperor to give him another assignment. Reward: a favor from the Vice Minister of Rites.

3. Report to the Northern Garrison Bureau tomorrow. Reward: a hundred-household commander's badge from the Northern Garrison Bureau, plus a fragment of the Officials' Secrets Ledger!

Zhu Jin stared at the third option. Since you all refuse to let me lie low, then this prince will take command of the Embroidered Uniform Guard!

Ninth Brother, guess whose name is on the first page of this Officials' Secrets Ledger?
