The Pei Family Story: A Mystery of Unrequited Love

This story explores the tangled relationships between six women in the Pei family, Luhui, Aunt He, Yuxin, Xinyi, Yang Yang, and Su Wan, and the Pei family's representative, Pei Yuanli. Luhui's unrequited love is mistaken by Pei Yuanli for contempt. Aunt He's deep affection is mistaken by him for opportunism. Why did Pei Yuanli never notice that Yuxin's older sister had a crush on him? Why was Yang Yang, a New York relationship counselor, too afraid to confess her secret love? Pei Yuanli's wife, Xinyi, loved her husband, her family, and her people all her life. Why did she live only to the age of 32?
