In the Name of the People: From the Start, I Reopen Old Cases and Rise Through the Ranks

After transmigrating to Handong, Lin Zheng becomes a low-ranking cop at the county public security bureau, framed to take the blame for someone else.

On the eve of his suspension, a drug-trafficking case file about to be destroyed reveals a chance to change his fate.

Qi Tongwei took three bullets, and the drug dealer died at the scene, but one gun was missing!

Everyone urges him to sign off and close the case, but instead he takes the file and knocks on the provincial inspection team's door.

From an old case involving a hero to a cover-up of a mining disaster, from land seizures to the loss of tens of billions in state-owned assets, every case Lin Zheng cracks costs someone their position, while others want to silence him forever.

Years later, when Hou Liangping arrives in Handong on orders, he discovers that his subject of investigation has already submitted a tip-off report.

Lin Zheng slides a second case file across to him:

“The first one investigates corrupt officials.”

“This one investigates who led you in the wrong direction.”

From then on, Lin Zheng sets out on a career path leading all the way into the central government!

Everyone in Handong will remember his name!
