Cthulhu History

They thought they were rewriting history.

Qin Shi Huang unifying the six states, Wang Mang usurping the Han, the An Lushan Rebellion, the naval battle at Yashan, and Chongzhen hanging himself. Behind every change of dynasty, there was an unseen hand at work. Those it pushed thought they had made their own choices. It wasn't until they looked in a mirror before dying that they saw the thing inside it smiling.

I've lived from the Qin dynasty to the present day, taking on more than a dozen identities. Not one of them came to a good end. I've been searching for one thing: where did that mirror originally come from, and what does the thing inside it want? The clues point to one place: the deepest part of the Endless Abyss. The thing sitting there has existed since before humanity was born. It's in no hurry to destroy us. It's just waiting for us to walk up to it ourselves.
