The Starstone Calamity

The story takes place two hundred years after the journey to the West to obtain the Buddhist scriptures. Every sect is recruiting disciples, and the Starstone has foretold a new crisis threatening both the Buddhist realm and the Daoists, one that only a single person can resolve. But an evil force invades the Celestial Prison, steals the ancient divine beast Taowu, and makes its escape. The Four Wood Lords among the Twenty-Eight Mansions and others intercept it. As they are locked in a stalemate, the Supreme Lord Laozi casts a spell that intercepts and gravely wounds Taowu, but the beast escapes, leaving Laozi gravely injured as well. At death's door, he scatters his treasures across the mortal world: the Plantain Fan, the Immortal-Binding Rope, the Yin-Yang Jade-Cleansing Vase, the Taiji Sword, and others. He turns himself into a bone-free Golden Elixir and descends to the mortal world, leaving behind these words: "When the body dies, the Dao vanishes; the body becomes a sage. Thirty years from now, when the White Tiger joins the ranks, the tribulation may be crossed." After seeing this, and the Starstone's prophecy, the White Tiger Star Lord decides to descend to the mortal world. Only by finding the wordless scripture left behind by Master Xuanzang in his final moments can he stand against the threat. Yet behind these demons is someone with ties to Buddhism. How will the White Tiger Star fare after descending to the mortal world? Will he find the treasures left behind by the Supreme Dao Ancestor?
