The Siheyuan's Affairs: The History Teacher Has a Script

An old jujube tree watches over the changing seasons of a Beijing courtyard house for decades. A young man who has transmigrated settles in the east courtyard. By day, he teaches and tells stories of the past; by night, beneath the jujube tree, he ponders the everyday life of the people around him. He protects the old house, establishes rules for the courtyard, and teaches the children about the roots of family and country. He also watches the residents bicker and bustle about, yet live together with warmth and affection. Jia Zhangshi goes from throwing tantrums and cursing in the street to learning how to help the neighbors. Xu Damao may be sharp-tongued, but he's warm-hearted too. Qin Huairu tends to her shop and her family. The tree sprouts year after year, and the residents' lives grow better with every passing year. Jujube blossoms fall across the courtyard, and the years pass in peace. Together, the people here keep their roots alive for a lifetime.
