My Kung Fu Improves in Secret Every Night

Zhou Ye was a young man who had been cut from a formal martial arts program. In a city where true martial arts had faded from sight, he could barely afford his grandfather’s monthly medicine. His martial arts school had gone under, and he guarded a room full of scrap metal, unapologetically poor. Then, one night, he practiced a stance from a fragment of a manual left behind by his family. After he went to bed, his body automatically performed the entire boxing form under the covers. As long as he practiced for real during the day, his body would practice it once more on its own at night. It turned out that beneath the seemingly ordinary world, true martial arts had always been hidden, waiting to be forged through years of hard work. This strange ability drew him into the hidden feuds over martial arts legacies and the storm of the old city’s redevelopment. But the fragment contained only the opening move. How could he continue training? Watch as he uses his fists to forge a path to the top in the modern city.
