Remember, the Princess Stole It!

After transmigrating as a lowly gray cat, he discovers that he's not only the pet of Lize, an apprentice at an apothecary, but also expendable material the Church is ready to harvest at any moment. Even Lize, who took him in, is on the list of those marked for certain death. But the Church doesn't know that he can understand human speech and draw magic power through their contract. The warm current he feels when curled up against her as she sleeps is the nourishment that helps him grow. If he absorbs enough magic power, he can break through the limits of his station. However, the Church's executioner has already set the date for the harvest, and a countdown to death hangs over them both. Will he sit back and be processed as expendable material, or absorb enough magic before the execution and force himself to evolve, taking her with him as they flee this merciless world?
