The Mortal World's Old Saintly Doctor

Li Laogen, a village doctor in Qingyun Town, was over fifty, with no home or wife, and had endured a lifetime of scorn and bullying. One bitter, hungry night, he sneaked into a local gentry family's medicinal garden to steal herbs. Their servants beat him within an inch of his life, but at the brink of death, he activated the damaged mystic jade his parents had left behind and awakened the lost legacy of the Supreme Primeval Medical Sage, unseen for ten thousand years. The Medical Eye, Salvation Needles, Hundred Herbs Alchemy, and Soul-Subduing Medical Qi all awakened within him.

He could cure chronic ailments in ordinary people and dispel parasites and hidden injuries in cultivators. One needle harmonized yin and yang; a single breath drove away demons and evil spirits. Starting by saving a child in danger and face-slapping the snobbish neighbors, he traveled across three counties, treating common folk for free. He met the poisoned female cultivator Su Qinghe and entered the world alongside her, stepping into a realm of mystic cultivation rife with demons and crowded with sects. The sects of this world valued killing over compassion, and the highest medical arts had long been lost. Guided by the principle, "A healer treats all people equally and saves only the good," Li Laogen used his ordinary mortal body to crush famous alchemy physicians from every faction, expose the hypocrisy of the top sects, and fight the heretical traitors who had lain in wait for ten thousand years after murdering the first Medical Sage.
