Jiangshi: Uncle Jiu Refuses to Take Me In, So I Kill Zombies to Cultivate

He transmigrates as Zhao Xuanlang and hopes to become Uncle Jiu's disciple, only to be rejected to his face. Born without the aptitude for cultivation, he doesn't even make it through the door of the funeral parlor. Just as he frets over his uncertain future, the Merit Cultivation System awakens and grants him a portal as a beginner's reward. With nowhere else to go, he steps through and finds himself in an apocalyptic world overrun by zombies.

Killing zombies earns merit, and the shop opens at once. Among the first day's special offers is a superior cultivation talent, originally priced at one hundred thousand merit points but now available for just one hundred. With a blade in hand, he clears the office building floor by floor, holds off the zombie horde with a Vajra Talisman, and slays dozens of zombies in a single day, accumulating twelve hundred merit points.

Even more astonishing is what else he brings back: gold jewelry from a jewelry store, gold bars and bricks hidden in a silver shop, and cases of watches from a warehouse. They fill six large bags. Before the portal closes, he hauls all this wealth back to Renjia Town.

The good-for-nothing Uncle Jiu rejected becomes a wealthy patron overnight. Zhao Xuanlang plans to use the money to establish himself in Renjia Town. When he enters the apocalypse again next month, he'll bring guns, food, and people, and knock on that door again in front of Uncle Jiu.
