The down-and-out writer Shen Yi falls into the world of an abandoned horror novel of his own making, where he becomes a death-row prisoner with only three days left to live. Faced with certain death and bloodthirsty killers, he discovers he can hear their twisted criminal monologues in real time. Armed with an almost godlike memory of the unfinished novel's plot, he gets ahead of Death, intercepts the killers, and saves their intended victims, forcibly rewriting the hopeless horror escape room into his own mad playground for cheating death.
