Siheyuan: From Deputy Regiment Commander to Head of Security

In 1957, twenty-four-year-old He Yuzhong returned to Courtyard No. 95 in his old military uniform.

The moment he stepped inside, he kicked Silly Zhu over as he was attacking someone.

Then he slapped Jia Zhangshi in front of everyone and declared that from then on, he was in charge of the He family.

Yi Zhonghai, Liu Haizhong, and the others thought he was just an ordinary soldier recently transferred to civilian life. They even planned to hold a meeting of the entire courtyard and use their authority as the neighborhood elders to force him to hand over the western courtyard.

They soon learned that He Yuzhong was no ordinary soldier.

He was a deputy-regimental-level cadre who had fought in the War of Liberation and the Korean War.

He had been officially appointed head of security at the Red Star Steel Rolling Mill.

He had earned the title of combat hero, with four First-Class Merits and fifteen Second-Class Merits to his name.

The two leaders who came to announce his appointment were none other than his former division commander and political commissar.

What no one knew was that he also carried a portable supermarket stocked with inexhaustible supplies.

When the news reached the courtyard, Silly Zhu was left dumbfounded.

The three neighborhood elders could no longer throw their weight around, and everyone finally understood.

The truly untouchable member of the He family was back.
