Honkai: Star Rail: Meeting Firefly in the Simulator, Saving Her with a Command

Sunlight scattered like flecks of gold across Liuying's shoulders. Standing outside the dessert shop, she watched the paper bag in An Ming's hand and pressed her lips together several times before speaking softly. She had never tasted the things inside, but now she longed to reach out for them, just as she had longed to reach out seven years ago, when a boy's words pulled her back from the brink of death.

People always say Glamoth has no tomorrow, and that modified humans should not even have names. But An Ming gave her the name Liuying, and told her that even if a firefly lives only three to seven days, it should still shine once for itself. She had never been afraid of dying. But after meeting him, she began to fear she might never see again the person who bought her cake.

The power of Words of Command can snatch people from the hands of death, but it cannot undo the destruction programmed into her genes. The entropy loss within Liuying is accelerating, and each day, a part of her existence quietly disappears from reality. She does not know whether she will still be whole the next time she opens her eyes and stands before An Ming. She only knows she must cut off the path to certain death before he fully learns to pilot the Molten Knight.
