Bleach: I Was a Commoner in Rukongai Until Unohana...

Kurokawa Toru ends up in the Soul Society, an ordinary nobody in the Rukongai with no spiritual power or weapons, hoping only to live in peace.

His instinctive, cool-headed predictions in moments of danger are mistaken by the Soul Reapers for the skills of a hidden master.

Unohana Retsu of the Fourth Division is the first to take an interest in him. Renji records his movements faithfully, Kenpachi Zaraki grows eager to fight him, and Gin Ichimaru keeps testing him in secret.

Everyone is convinced he is a reclusive expert, constantly speculating about his true capabilities and plans.

Only Kurokawa Toru knows the truth: he has always been nothing more than an ordinary man without a shred of spiritual power.

Being watched by the powerful is itself a strength unique to him.
