Naruto: Bound to the Akatsuki, I Turn the Tables on Konan!

By the time Bai Ye transmigrated into Akatsuki, Yahiko was still in charge. Bai Ye wanted to run, but the System had him bound fast. The stronger the organization grew, the greater the rewards, and if it was destroyed, he would go down with it. There was no escape, so he had no choice but to grit his teeth and stay. He taught Konan to make Explosive Tags to plug the budget hole, kept an eye on Nagato's Rinnegan, and had to figure out how to pry the peace-loving Yahiko out of the leader's seat.

The black market in Kusagakure held something even more valuable. Bai Ye learned that Uzumaki Karin had been secretly imprisoned by the village's higher-ups. She was the last link in a complete bloodline, and rescuing her would mean gaining a medical ninja with limitless potential, as well as triggering another round of rewards from the System. Nagato had already traveled from the Land of Rain to the outskirts of Kusagakure. The team was assembled, night had fallen, and the hidden chamber was right before them.

Bai Ye's plan had never been limited to rescuing someone. He intended to take the Kusagakure ninja tool storehouse, medicine depot, and ninjutsu scrolls along with him. Hanzo and Danzo would eventually move against Akatsuki, but before then, he had to help this dirt-poor civilian organization build up enough resources to topple Amegakure.
