Uma Musume: I Turned Down Special Recruitment and Unearthed Oguri Cap

Uma Musume are girls who chase speed, carrying the names and souls of legendary racehorses as they take to the track for the Twinkle Star Series. The road to the top is never smooth.

The overlooked gray monster, the girl whose congenital leg condition had nearly left her unable to stand, was buried in the least remarkable stack of records at Kasamatsu. She could polish off half a barrel of curry rice in one sitting and casually run the final stretch of her morning jog in under forty seconds, yet she had no idea what a debut race was.

Everyone laughed at Kitahara for passing up the widely acclaimed special prospect Fujimasa March. Only he knew that the silver-haired girl, who foolishly clutched carrots and thought of nothing but running and eating, would one day crush the entire Central racing world with her own legs and an appetite that seemed bottomless.

If no one believed she could make it, then he would be the one to unearth this true thoroughbred. He would nourish her from the muddy local tracks all the way to the Central turf. He would make all of Japan remember that gray hair wasn't a weakness, but a storm about to sweep across the land.
