Beiping Under the Smoke of War: From the Start, I Build an Electric Scooter, and Third Master Wen Makes His Move

Wen San wakes up transmigrated into the spineless rickshaw puller from The Beiping Under Siege. The moment he opens his eyes, Second Master Sun cracks his whip and demands that Wen San make up his daily puller fee.

Then Wen San awakens the legacy of a Master Mechanic and decides he's done pulling rickshaws. He's going to build an electric vehicle.

Three days later, a strange vehicle appears on the streets of Beiping. No one has to pull it; twist the throttle and it speeds off, faster than a horse-drawn carriage. Wen San earns in one day what he used to make in three, leaving his fellow pullers astonished.

Second Master Sun takes a fancy to the vehicle and tries to claim it, promising to waive Wen San's daily fee. Wen San refuses.

Three months later, Swift Donkey electric scooters have taken over Beiping, and rickshaw pullers are scrambling to rent them. Six months later, electric tricycles, trucks, and motorcycles follow one after another. Wen San has gone from puller to Boss Wen.

A year later, the Japanese army occupies Beiping. Looking at the electric scooters in the streets, Lord Inukai wonders why his own country can't build them.

Leaning against the factory entrance, Wen San sneers at the Japanese planes overhead. What he's achieved so far is only the beginning. Once he builds tanks, fighter planes, and radar, he'll drive out every invader.
