War of Resistance: I Robbed and Got Rich, Leaving Old Li Frustrated and Helpless

As long as Ling Feng smiles at his subordinates and says, "Wishing you prosperity," he can get artillery shells and ammunition. Li Yunlong had just won a battle and seized two mortars, but before they had even cooled, Ling Feng called him over to headquarters. Furious, he felt around the empty gun mounts in the warehouse and cursed.

The fighting had to continue. Ling Feng used Li Yunlong's hard-earned gear to get six 80 mm mortars and two attribute points. Then he set his sights on the Japanese supply convoy, intent on "laundering" that heavy firepower into legitimate spoils of war. After a quick, clean ambush outside Xiaowang Village, his artillery company swelled from twelve guns to eighteen. But Ling Feng's gaze remained fixed on the map, toward Shuozhou City. The two Japanese companies surrounded in Zhaijiuao were just bait. The real prey was a whole infantry battalion about to charge out of the city.

Li Yunlong lay in the trench listening to the brigade commander curse, longing for the two Type 92 infantry guns at the bottom of the ravine but not daring to move. Ling Feng had already taken up position at the front of Niujiao Peak with his pistol. All twelve mortars were aimed and ready, waiting for the Japanese reinforcements to walk into the trap.
