Siheyuan: In 1956, I Secure My Iron Rice Bowl First

In the spring of 1956, a modern man wakes up as the young He Yuzhu. He has already spent over a month living in this era without phones or the internet.

By then, He Daqing has long since gone to Baoding with a widow, while He Yushui is still in school. The siblings have little money between them, and He Yuzhu has only just escaped the rough life of an apprentice at a restaurant.

His only special advantage is nothing extravagant: two mu of poor farmland and a warehouse. Even the crops he grows are nowhere near abundant enough to eat without a care.

So He Yuzhu has no intention of relying on his pocket dimension to coast to success. Instead, he takes a letter of recommendation from the neighborhood office and applies for a cook's job at a steelworks, securing a stable position for himself and his sister.

With honest cooking skills, catering gigs, and a little produce from his pocket dimension, he begins building up his savings in a real historical era.

The conflicts in the courtyard are just one small part of life. He would rather experience the decades of history ahead firsthand.
