Siheyuan: I Reject the Rat Race and Enjoy Life with the System

In the fall of 1964, the protagonist transmigrates into the world of The Birds Fill the Courtyard, a year before the story officially begins. This gives him plenty of time to plan ahead.

The System can collect Emotion Points from people and events connected to him. He can then spend them in the shop to buy food, meat, ration coupons, and all kinds of scarce supplies. It also comes with a portable storage space.

With the System's help, he takes on the identity of a demobilized soldier, joins the No. 2 Purchasing Department at Red Star Steelworks, and moves into two spacious rooms in the front courtyard.

As he renovates his new home and builds good relations with his neighbors, he keeps earning merit and promotions through his purchasing work.

Qin Huairu, Lou Xiao'e, and Tong Yuqing also enter his life one after another. At first, he only wants to avoid the rat race and live comfortably, but little by little he turns the courtyard into his own carefree haven.
