Journey to the West: I Guide the Stone Monkey, and the Immortals Rule the Three Realms!

Jiang Yi transmigrates into the world of Journey to the West. From the start, all he has are two mud-brick huts and ten mu of barren land, so he marries, has children, and farms to make ends meet. His five-year-old eldest son, Jiang Ming, runs into the hills behind their home and discovers a starving, skin-and-bones monkey beneath a five-fingered mountain. The monkey's eyes turn green at the sight of the wild fruit in the child's hands.

Jiang Yi tells no one. He simply has his son secretly bring the monkey fruit, spring water, and boiled eggs every day. The monkey eats messily, but is remarkably intelligent. Once full, it closes its eyes to meditate, occasionally letting out a faint sigh. One time, when Jiang Ming asks its name, the monkey grins and spits out the character Sun.

The Jiang family's fields grow to a hundred mu. Their chickens and ducks become flocks of spirit birds, and vegetables grow in all three seasons. When Liu Xiulian is pregnant with her third child, Jiang Ming uses the breathing technique the monkey taught him to help her. That night, a radiance of spiritual energy shines from the newborn. Jiang Yi finally understands: he hasn't been feeding a monkey, but the Great Sage Equal to Heaven, imprisoned for five hundred years.

When Sun Wukong slowly opens his eyes beneath Five Elements Mountain, the Jiang family has grown from two mud huts into an immortal clan whose estates span three mountains. The monkey gazes at the spiritual light covering the hills and grins. Old Sun knew he had the right man all along.
