Showbiz: I Transmigrated with a Hard Drive and Snatched the Lead in Farewell My Concubine

After transmigrating back to 1990, Chu Xunhuan uses a hard drive packed with resources from the future to rise to fame as a genius writer. In the golden age of literature, To Live, Ruined City, and Cultural Journey sweep the literary world. Between writing fees and the stock market, he earns tens of millions in a year. He gets into the acting program at the Beijing Film Academy with just one goal: to take Farewell My Concubine out of Chen Kaige's hands.

He starts by practicing with short films. When he presents the scripts for The Black Hole and The Tuner, his homeroom teacher, Qi Shilong, slaps the table in approval. On set, he is so exacting that he seems almost deranged, calling a halt over a lighting discrepancy of even half a degree. Zhao Yanguozhang and Li Dawei go from doubting him to being convinced.

Chen Hong moves into his apartment of her own accord, cooking in an apron while she waits for him to finish work. Yu Feihong blocks his way at the door to ask for a role: "When you get a good project, remember to save a part for me." But Chu Xunhuan knows that Farewell My Concubine is set to begin filming in 1992. He has less than two years. Standing beneath the red walls of the Forbidden City after a snowfall, he wraps his coat tighter and murmurs, "Director Chen, I'm sorry. I'll make this film in your place."

The hard drive contains a gold mine from the next thirty years, and he is only just getting started.
