Hunter X Hunter: Copying the Scarlet Eyes and Challenging Kurapika

After transmigrating into the Hunter world fifteen years ago, Li Ke spent a decade filleting fish on Whale Island, developing the Infinite Trait Plundering System: after a target dies, it randomly extracts one of their ability traits. He accumulated golden-level Herculean Strength, golden-level Underwater Breathing, and purple-level Healing, along with a lifespan of at least four hundred years. When he finally leaves the island, the ship he's on collides with Gon, Leorio, and Kurapika. During a stormy night, Kurapika falls overboard, and Li Ke braves the raging waves to haul him back.

Kurapika demands to know why Li Ke keeps staring at him. Li Ke only says, "Want to fight?" One direct punch splits Kurapika's knuckles, knocks the wooden sword from his hand, and sends him flying. The System announces a 10% chance of copying a trait. With incredible luck, Li Ke plunders the Scarlet Eyes and gets them right away, though his eyes don't turn red when he activates them. While Kurapika lies on the deck catching his breath, Li Ke is already at the bow, thinking, "Killua must have a golden trait... What about Hisoka?" At the entrance to the Hunter Exam, rookie killer Tonpa tries to strike up a conversation with poisoned drinks. Li Ke kicks him away and copies his blue-level Luck for good measure. Shaking his wrist, he strides into the depths of the underground exam hall. "I'm fighting every single one of them this year."
