Dragon Ball: Guarding Young Vegeta from the Start!

After transmigrating as a Saiyan infant on Planet Vegeta, Li Weiweitelie's initial power level is 500, a full thousand times higher than Kakarot's. He avoids the Saiyans' prevailing love of fighting and stays inside, working relentlessly on sensing and controlling ki. In one month, his power level rises from 500 to 2,000; in ten months, he pushes it all the way to 13,000. When King Vegeta assigns him to guard the newly emerged Prince Vegeta, four-year-old Weiteli is already lifting weights in a tenfold-gravity chamber with the prince on his back. He deliberately keeps his displayed power level at 2,800 while secretly breaking through 20,000.

Vegeta, covered in swollen bumps, kneels on the training ground. What kind of monster are you?

Weiteli wipes away his nosebleed without even raising his eyes. "Your father fears Frieza, your grandfather fears King Cold, and the entire Saiyan race spends its days on its knees. If I don't train harder than anyone else, who's going to be the one standing?"

The needle on the gravity chamber's instrument panel jumps wildly: ten times, twenty times, fifty times. With his eyes closed, he thinks of the path Goku took, starting at a power level of 20,000 and fighting his way through the Frieza Force. Kakarot can do it, so why can't I?
