Love Apartment: With the Plot in Hand, I Win Over Hu Yifei

Zhang Wei transmigrates and, from the start, gets roped into a blind date by Lu Ziqiao in the bathroom of the Love Apartment bar. His date is Hu Yifei. Everyone else thinks she's a shrew, but he sees a treasure. One line, "I just love that wild side of yours," completely breaks through Yifei's defenses. That very night, he moves into the apartment. Couples get free utilities.

While Zeng Xiaoxian is still being cheated on by Laura for the sixth year running, Zhang Wei is already lounging on the sofa with an arm around Yifei, eating watermelon. Ziqiao tries to take him clubbing to act as his wingman, but Zhang Wei turns the tables and sells Ziqiao out completely, then ducks into Yifei's arms to complain: "He was trying to make me hit on girls!" Yifei grabs a frying pan and chases Ziqiao all over the building.

Even better, Zhang Wei knows the plot of every season. He helps Zhanbo win over Wanyu, untangles Guangu's emotional knots with a single sentence, and steps in at just the right moment to smooth things over when Ziqiao and Meijia are tormenting each other. By the time Zeng Xiaoxian finally realizes Laura is keeping another man on the hook, Zhang Wei has already used his head start to max out Yifei's affection for him.

Wanyu secretly asks, "What are you really trying to do?"

Zhang Wei pulls Hu Yifei closer and nods toward Zeng Xiaoxian. "Make him call me brother-in-law of his own free will."
