The Immortal Sect Ledger

You mortals! How dare you seek the path to the Immortal Sect?!

A man knelt before the Immortal Sect, his face full of pleading. "Immortal Master! I seek the Dao not for myself, but for this vast land!"

The old man stroked his beard. "Hmph! Go down the mountain. You have no affinity with the Immortal Sect."

The man burst into laughter. "No affinity! What a fine excuse! You simply despise me because I lack a spiritual root! How could I ever presume to join the Immortal Sect? I only... only... do it for Great Xia! Why? The Immortal Sect can slaughter us mortals, while we have no power to fight back! Does the cultivation world really think of us mortals as nothing but ants?"

He knelt there for seven days without drinking a single drop of water. Then he fell. Thud!

Snow began to fall from the sky.

A cold wind in April! Snow in April!
