Western Fantasy: Infinite Simulations, Undead Dragons in a Bloody Battle

Haventure is reborn in the Hailan Territory of the Ingis Empire. He has just turned fifteen when an army of undead reaches the city walls: thousands of ghouls and an undead dragon. The White Lion Legion is between shifts, and reinforcements won't arrive for at least three days. He has a strange ability: by expending mental energy, he can repeatedly simulate the next ten hours, and by sacrificing life force, he can glimpse fragments of the future. In his first simulation, everyone dies. In the second, father and son perish on the battlefield together. In the third, the nobles activate a teleportation array and flee, and as he dies, he sees a golden vertical pupil lingering in the dragon's eye. The dragon is still alive, and it wants to die.

The fourth simulation begins. Haventure storms into the meeting room and openly defies his father and the northern nobles, forcing Count Morris to choose a side. He finds the principles of necromancy in Teacher Solis's book: cut off the caster's connection and destroy the enhanced magic array, and the dragon will go berserk. Outside the city, the death priest Alan is performing the final ritual. Haventure leads thirty White Lion Knights out through the east gate, with explosive incendiary rounds tucked in his arms. He grips the reins and charges toward the crimson magic array for one last time.
