Dream of the Red Chamber: Beating Xue Pan from the Start and Rising to the Throne

He transmigrates into a world where the Ming Dynasty and Dream of the Red Chamber are fused, becoming the emperor's youngest legitimate son, the Thirteenth Prince Zhu Jinghong. An ambitious crown prince looms above him, and the ministers keep their eyes on him. Just as he's plotting how to seize the throne, he stumbles upon Xue Pan committing a violent crime in broad daylight on the streets of Jinling.

With fists and kicks, Zhu Jinghong beats Xue the Tyrant to his knees and begging for mercy, then casually rescues Zhen Yinglian from being kidnapped and sold. When the constables arrive, they try to arrest him without asking a thing. Is the Xue family's reputation worth more than the law? He gives a cold laugh and has them all taken to the prefectural court. He wants to see whether Prefect Jia Yucun dares to judge the case impartially.

On the way back to the palace, Crown Prince Zhu Jingyuan is being driven to distraction by the shortage of funds and military supplies. The ministers shirk responsibility, Japanese pirates threaten the borders, and the ambitious Prince Rui is waiting for him to make a mistake. Zhu Jinghong walks into the hall, looks at his indecisive fourth brother, and gets an idea...

He'll claim the empire, win the beauties, deal with Xue Pan, and teach Jia Yucun a lesson. The court officials in his way will sooner or later scatter like dust in the wind. It all begins with that punch on the streets of Jinling.
