American Comics: Playing Doomsday from the Start, Surviving in The Boys

With one injection, the previous test subject exploded into a cloud of blood against the bulletproof glass. He survived and awakened the Myriad Worlds Role-Playing System. His assigned role: Doomsday, the ultimate biological weapon from DC.

Doomsday's evolutionary rule was simple: bask in the sun. The beam of light coming through the tiny window of the psychiatric hospital was his only way to survive. Every day, he stood in the sunlight. The guards laughed at him for imitating Superman, unaware that his role-play score was steadily climbing.

One night, guard Yate sneaked into his room to attack him. Pei Yuan's eyes glowed scarlet, and two beams of heat vision swept across the room. All that remained on the floor was a charred lump. An alarm sounded in the center of Sage Grove. Lamplighter blocked the exit and hurled flames at him. Pei Yuan grabbed a fire hose and drenched him, then finished him off with a beam. In the control room, Wilson stared at those glowing red eyes and picked up the radio, his voice trembling. "What the hell? Isn't that Homelander's signature move? What kind of monster did Carlton create?!"

At Vought Tower, Madelyn rushed into Edgar's office and handed him a tablet. On the screen, a badly charred young Asian man was driving straight through the base's gate and speeding away.
