The Power Grab: Racing to the Pinnacle of Power

Set in a fictional modern-day Jiuzhou. Linyuan County is a large, economically backward outlying county where various factions are deeply entrenched. The workplace runs on cliques and personal connections, with a rigid hierarchy and rampant cases of "the front lines are struggling while the rear gorges itself." Lu Yuan arrives with the military's iron-fisted style and a covert assignment to gain experience among the upper echelons. He must not only root out corruption and develop the economy, but also face the woman he missed out on sixteen years ago, now a mother, and an ex who had been his stand-in but broke up with him as soon as she secured a government job, resenting his status as a mere grunt.
