Corpse Driver: Traveling the Faraway Road with the Dead

Lin Mo, a poor high school student, takes a job at a cemetery deep in the mountains to pay for his seriously ill father's treatment. There, he is unexpectedly haunted by an evil spirit. Strange occurrences plague his home, and with nowhere to turn for help, he follows his mother to seek assistance from Daoist Master Xuanchen at a mountain funeral home, hoping to put an end to the evil haunting them.

At the funeral home, Lin Mo is tenderly cared for and patiently taught by Su Qinghan, the Daoist master's adopted daughter. He devotes himself to studying Maoshan arts and corpse-driving techniques, sheds his timid nature, and grows into a corpse-driver who can stand on his own. The two fall in love over time and promise to stay together. But Su Qinghan is always ice-cold and mysterious, often vanishing without explanation. She keeps her secrets hidden, and although Lin Mo is full of doubts, he chooses to trust her.

Before long, Su Qinghan vanishes without a trace. At the same time, a flying stiff wreaks havoc in the mountains. To protect Lin Mo, Master Xuanchen suffers a deadly corpse poison and ultimately sets himself on fire, sacrificing himself for the Dao. In his final moments, he entrusts Lin Mo with everything he has learned in his life and all his magical artifacts, and charges him with protecting Su Qinghan.

With his arts perfected, Lin Mo walks between the worlds of yin and yang, suppressing evil spirits as he searches far and wide for his beloved. At last, he finds Su Qinghan and uncovers the truth about her eerie origins and disappearance. But the powerful enemy behind it all is still lying in wait. A deadly crisis involving the forces of good and evil, love and hate, is quietly closing in on them both.
