Hong Kong Films: Starting with Godzilla Swallowing Hung Hing Whole

The world has never been fair to Ye Lingyun.

Abandoned by his parents in Kowloon Walled City, mocked like a piece of trash by his peers, and with the only person who ever treated him well, Sergeant Wong, pushed off a rooftop, he spent three years as a parking attendant for Hung Hing, treated worse than a dog.

But at last, Heaven opened its eyes and gave him a golden finger absurd beyond belief: his clone was Godzilla. From a tadpole chased and bitten by a yellow catfish, to a sixty-centimeter juvenile beast, and then to a creature that might one day grow into the true King of the Monsters, Ye Lingyun needed only one night.

When the sun rose again and Causeway Bay's neon lights went dark, Ye Lingyun stood beside Ba Bi's corpse and lit a cigarette.

Hung Hing, Sun Yee On, Chung Hsin Yee, Wo Hop To… You'd better pray Godzilla never grows up.

Because the day it truly stands tall, all of Hong Kong Island will tremble in its shadow. And Han Chen, you'll be the first bone it crushes.
