Yu-Gi-Oh!: Starting in the Underworld with the Millennium Scale in Hand

When other people enter the world of Yu-Gi-Oh!, they start out at Duel Academy or in Battle City.

The moment You Ming opens his eyes, he's in the underworld. And he's already dead.

A bald gravekeeper stands before him, handing him a Millennium Scales and a deck of cards. "You must save this world." You Ming looks down at the deck: sixty cards, all Equip Spells and Traps, without a single monster he can Normal Summon.

"Do you want me to chop my way to resurrection with an axe?"

Shadi doesn't answer. The ghouls chewing outside the door answer for him.

Want to enter Battle City? First win your way through the resurrection tournament.

Later, the duelists of Domino City realize that something is off about the new guy. While others rely on topdecks, he uses banned cards. While others fight with their ace monsters, he opens with three Virus cards and wipes out the opponent's entire hand.

Someone asks why he plays so desperately. You Ming answers without hesitation: "I just want to get back to the world of the living in one piece. And while I'm at it, I want to ask Shadi why he still hasn't launched my mom into outer space."
